First row must be a header. Recognised columns (any order, any capitalisation): client name, client ref, self-employment income, property income, or a single qualifying income column. Amounts may include a pound sign and thousands separators. Tab-separated text pasted from a spreadsheet also works.
Use the income figure from the return each threshold is based on: 2024-25 for the £50,000 threshold, 2025-26 for £30,000 and 2026-27 for £20,000. The tool takes one figure per client and cannot tell which return it came from.
The free version processes the first 5 clients of a file. The sample has 8 invented clients.

The .ics holds one all-day event for each of the 4 quarterly update deadlines and the final declaration, for the first mandated year only. Clients not currently in scope get no events.
Rules used
- Qualifying income is gross self-employment plus property income, before expenses and tax.
- Required from 6 April 2026 if over £50,000 (2024-25 return), from 6 April 2027 if over £30,000 (2025-26 return) and from 6 April 2028 if over £20,000 (2026-27 return). "Over" means strictly more than the figure. The £20,000 stage is shown as published by HMRC; the GOV.UK page that sets it is headed "Proposed revisions", so check its legislative status.
- Quarterly update deadlines: 7 August, 7 November, 7 February and 7 May. Standard periods end 5 July, 5 October, 5 January and 5 April; calendar periods end 30 June, 30 September, 31 December and 31 March.
- Final declaration: by 31 January following the end of the tax year.
- Flags: "within 10% of a threshold" is this tool's own check, not an HMRC rule. Exemptions are not decided here.
